Project Management is of fast growing importance to organisations because it deals effectively with the management of change. Both contemporary and project-based organisations are beginning to realise that the traditional form of management cannot deal with the dynamics and resulting chaos of the modern economic, social and business environment.
Project management is a method for organisations to achieve profitability targets, but just as significantly; it is a 'culture' that will assist most people to improve their personal performance.
The Centre for Project Management at the University of Limerick is the only centre of its type in Ireland that specialises in the provision of education, research and training in this discipline.
Master's Degree in Project ManagementThe University of Limerick, through the Centre for Project Management is the only University in Ireland to offer a Master's Degree course in Project Management. The course first commenced in 1992 and is offered over two years on a part-time basis.The course is available either in a distance education or a taught block release programme.
Diploma in Project Management
The Diploma in Project Management (Dip.PM), accredited by The University of Limerick, is the result of a detailed review of both Industry requirements and applied academic research. Designed specifically to provide participants with the skills and the knowledge to affect change either in a projects-driven environment or within a contemporary organisation. Applicable to both manufacturing and service sectors, it is delivered by Distance Learning and On-Line formats.
Training ProgrammesThe Centre for Project Management has a number of specific programmes geared to address project management training.
These programmes are run both In-House and as Open Workshops, which supply an effective method to make sure you get the right training through high quality, cost effective instruction in a focused and tailored way.

Centre for Project Management is a constituent unit of the University
of Limerick and is classified by the University as a ‘centre
of excellence’. In order to maintain the highest standards,
all of the CPM's educational programmes are accredited and awarded
by the University without exception.
